1) That God would qualify me to know him.
Colossians 1:11-13 says,”May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgivemess of sins.”
I’m humbled by this grace because God alone is the active agent. HE awakened me from my depraved state. HE provided the righteousness necessary to call me his own. Sola Fide. By faith alone I have been qualified and God provided that faith.
2) That I will not be left alone to my sin.
God has provided the indwelling Holy Spirit to guide me to all truth when my flesh desires rebellion. Though a sin may take up residence in my heart for a season, God is faithful to reveal that and provide the means to remove it.
3) That the 2nd Person of the Trinity would come incarnate, completely God and completely man for the sins of men and glory of the Father.
I am in awe contemplating this. What a grace it is! The communion that the exists within the Trinity to bring such a plan of redemption about is a mystery, a glorious mystery.
